INTENT STATEMENT

At Primet Primary our aim is to promote high standards of literacy by providing children with a life-long love of literature through reading enjoyment. We create a rich reading environment where imagination and creativity can be fuelled. Through using a range of reading strategies, we are able to bring a sense of wonder and enjoyment to pupils which enables them to explore real-life issues, develop conversation and create a passion for learning. All pupils are encouraged to read widely across both fiction and non-fiction to develop their knowledge of the world. It is essential that, by the end of pupils' primary education they are able to read fluently, and with confidence, in any subject.
