Monday 22nd June 2020

English:

  1. Watch and listen to the song: ‘Microorganisms’ by Peter Weatherall –making notes as you watch
  2. Read the webpage (or the paper file) about microorganisms and make notes.
  3. Watch the short BBC clip: ‘Seeing the bacteria carried on hands’.
  4. Design a leaflet suitable for children your age about microorganisms and washing hands.

Paper task: Adding simple fractions and mixed numbers

English:

  1. Watch the BBC Teach dramatisation of the scientist Edward Jenner and make notes as you watch
  2. Read about Edward Jenner’s life (website or paper copy) making any additional notes
  3. Based on what you have read and watched, create either a fact page or a comic based on the life of Edward Jenner.

  1. Read and watch about the scientist, Louis Pasteur, jotting down key information
  2. Read and watch about the scientist, Alexander Fleming, jotting down key information
  3. Write an explanation about who deserves ‘The Greatest Scientist of All Time’ award out of:  Edward Jenner, Louis Pasteur and Alexander Fleming

Friday 26th June 2020

English:

  1. Watch the video, ‘For the Heroes: A Pep Talk From Kid President’
  2. After watching, write down what an ‘everyday-hero’ means to you.
  3. Write a letter to your own everyday hero to thank them personally
