Phonics-  Use www.phonicsplay.co.uk or www.activelearnprimary.co.uk for daily phonic practise.

English- Spelling test

Maths- Days of the week

 

Topic-Consider other characters which could also have featured in the story, e.g. the Big Bad Wolf saying sorry to the Three Little Pigs, the Gingerbread Man saying sorry for stealing everybody's food or the Troll apologising to the Three Billy Goats Gruff for scaring them. Write a new page for the book as if you were apologising for what you had done, e.g. the Big Bad Wolf saying sorry to the Three Little Pigs, the Gingerbread Man saying sorry for stealing everybody’s food or the Troll apologising to the Three Billy Goats Gruff for scaring them.

Topic- Begin to read the story of The Jolly Postman or Other People’s Letters by Janet and Allan Ahlberg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpeo_0yoD0k

Write a list of who the mail is for, what type it is and who the sender is, e.g. First of all there is a letter of apology for Mr and Mrs Bear and Baby Bear from Goldilocks. Next there is a leaflet for the Wicked Witch… If you can’t list the characters draw them instead.

English- Writing a story about 'Panda post'

 

Arithmetic-Test 3

Maths- o'clock worksheet and half past (telling and writing the time).

 

Topic- Check to see if the postman/lady has been today or yesterday. What did tey bring? A parcel, letter, leaflet, birthday  card, bill etc. Look at the front of a piece of mail that has arrived recently at your home. What does it have on the front to make sure it gets posted through your door? I.e. the correct name and address. Practise writing a out the full name and address of one person you in your family. Write on an envelope the correct name and address in full. Ensure you spell Mr, Mrs or Miss correctly with a capital letter and that the format of the address follows lines underneath each other. Check for capital letters for names, the street name, town/city and county. Don’t forget the postcode too!

Maths- o'clock worksheet (telling and writing the time.

 

Topic- Write a letter to your mum/dad/brother or sister. In your letter write down what you would like for your birthday. Start your letter with To…….For my birthday I would like……. Ending with love from…….

Draw pictures of the presents you have listed.

Arithmetic-Test 1

Maths-Make interactive clock and understand the order of numbers on a clock.

Topic- Talk to your child about the postman/lady being someone who helps us. Ask: Do you know what job they do? Can you spot them coming down the street? What do they wear? What happens when they come to your door? What do they bring? How do they travel? Watch Postman Pat. Draw a picture of a postman/lady and write down some of the things they bring/do/ wear, e.g. My postman wears a blue uniform.
